Angela Patmon, Founder & Director

Angela Patmon is an educator, choreographer, and performer dedicated to creating space for community, collaboration, and artistic excellence through dance. She is the founder of Patmon Dance Project and the visionary behind Kinetic Edge Creative, where she brings world-class performing arts programming directly into schools and communities.

Currently directing the dance program at the prestigious Horace Mann School, Ms. Patmon is known for developing immersive, inclusive curricula that empower students of all backgrounds to grow as artists and individuals. She recently completed her Instructional Leadership Certificate from Harvard University, further deepening her commitment to education and curriculum design.

Ms. Patmon has taught at top institutions including Broadway Dance Center in New York and the Chicago Multicultural Dance Center, home of the world-famous Hiplet™ Ballerinas. Her teaching approach bridges professional artistry with educational depth, allowing students to train with the same rigor and creativity found in professional settings.

Her choreography has been featured in numerous productions, including the workshop of Francois and the Rebels at The Public Theater, and musicals such as Annie, Freaky Friday, Beauty and the Beast, Something Rotten, and The Addams Family. Her dynamic teaching style is rooted in years of experience across a wide range of dance genres and performance environments.

As a performer, Ms. Patmon has danced for The Metropolitan Opera Ballet at Lincoln Center, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater, Oui Danse, Elements Contemporary Ballet, Wideman/Davis Dance, and more. She’s performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Jacob’s Pillow, Central Park SummerStage, and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Her commercial and screen work includes projects for MAC Cosmetics, Hermès, Apple Watch, and Wolford (New York Fashion Week), as well as appearances in Dhoom 3, STARZ’s Flesh and Bone, and Elementary.

Through Kinetic Edge Creative, Ms. Patmon bridges the gap between professional dance and education—cultivating meaningful, movement-based learning experiences that inspire students to move with purpose, confidence, and joy.
